Thursday Preview
Not since Oslo in 91, have two Swedes made the quarterfinals of a WTA tournament at the same time. On Thursday, our top two Swedish players are in the quarterfinals of the Collector Swedish Open and if they both win, it will be an all-Swedish semifinal.

Johanna Larsson has been in two clay semi-finals this year. She now has the chance to go to her third semifinal on clay for the year. To do that, she will have to defeat Lourdes Dominguez Lino from Spain. They have met once before in this year's Australian Open and Lourdes emerged victorious from the battle with the score being 6-2, 6-1.

- It will be tough and I'm set to play a marathon match. My plan is to try and stay on the baseline and control the game, said Johanna regarding her quarterfinal.

Sofia Arvidsson has never been in a clay court semi at WTA level. She has been in three quarterfinals, most recently in Brussels in the spring. To make it through to the semifinals of the Swedish Open Collector, she will need to defeat a well-known Spaniard. Clay court specialist Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez, who knocked out Caroline Wozniacki in the 2009 finals of the Collector Swedish Open, will be a tough nut to crack for Sofia.

- I have not seen her play very much but I have heard that she uses a lot of slice and drop shots, said Sofia.

The last match on center court will be treating us to some top class tennis. Seeded Italian, Flavia Pennetta makes her way to face seventh seed, Barbara Zahlova Strycova. Aravane Rezais superiors Polona Hercogs meet Vesna Dolonts the first match on center court.
