World No. 1 Challenged by the Champions

Caroline Wozniacki is looking for her first Collector Swedish Open title. The Dane has claimed a total of 17 singles titles on the WTA Tour, but has yet to win in Båstad.
"Båstad is one of my favorite tournaments, and this year I plan to win the title that I should have won in 2009," says the Danish World No. 1.
However, she will face tough competition from past two Båstad champions. Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez, who defeated Wozniacki in the inaugural Collector Swedish Open in 2009, and last year's winner Aravane Reazai are both back to challenge the World No. 1.
And the No. 1 doubles player, Italy's Flavia Pennetta, who has also lifted the Båstad doubles title back to back as well as reached the semis in singles both in 2009 and 2010, will also return to the Swedish resort this year.
The two highest ranked Swedish players, Johanna Larsson and Sofia Arvidsson, will also be part of the Collector Swedish Open in 2011.
"With Caroline in the player field, there will be less pressure on them. And they are playing well this season. They both defeated a former World No. 1 recently, and have shown that they can compete at the highest level. On top of that, Johanna has reached two semifinals on clay this season," says Tournament Director Nina Wennerström.
