Almagro Captures Skistar Swedish Open Title

Nicolas Almagro became the 2010 winner of the Skistar Swedish Open in Båstad after having edged past defending champion Robin Söderling 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 in the thrilling singles final on Sunday.
The No. 4 seeded Almagro became the sixth Spanish singles champion in Båstad in the last ten years. The title was his first of the season and the sixth of his career.
"When you win a tournament you always feel good afterwards. I was happy with the way I played, and I was happy with my mental game today."
World No. 5 Robin Söderling was looking for his second title of the year and his second on clay in his career. Naturally he was very disappointed after the final loss.
"Too bad that I didn't get the break early in the first set. I played OK in the second set but I gave away a break in the decisive set, and that's why I lost the match," said Söderling in his press conference.
The Swede, who struggled en route to the final, also took the opportunity to thank the Båstad spectators after the final.
"If I hadn't been for you, I wouldn't have been in the final today. It's all thanks to your support this week.
